Choosing the Right Website Platform
WordPress, Shopify, a fully custom build — the right choice depends entirely on what you actually need, not which one is trendiest.
WordPress
The most flexible option for content-heavy sites — blogs, brochure sites, membership sites. Huge ecosystem of plugins, easy for a non-technical person to update once it's built, and it's what most of our own client sites run on.
Shopify or dedicated e-commerce platforms
If selling products online is the primary goal, a dedicated e-commerce platform often gets you to launch faster with fewer moving parts than building a shop on a general-purpose CMS.
Fully custom builds
Worth considering when a project has requirements that don't fit an off-the-shelf CMS well — complex booking logic, unusual integrations, or performance requirements that a general platform can't comfortably meet.
